About the Role

As a Relationship Officer in Deposit Banking, your main responsibility is to manage relationships with individual and corporate clients regarding their deposit accounts. You will help acquire new clients, retain existing ones, and ensure their banking needs are met.

This position also involves building a strong portfolio of deposit accounts, achieving growth targets, and contributing to the overall success of the branch.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include:

1. Client Acquisition:

   • Attract new clients to open deposit accounts, including Current Accounts, Savings Accounts (CASA), and Term Deposits (TD).

   • Build a strong portfolio within agreed timeframes.

2. Portfolio Management:

   • Ensure assigned portfolio targets are achieved on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

   • Maintain a healthy balance between CASA and Term Deposits to support bank growth.

3. Team Building:

   • Recruit and manage a deposit mobilization team of 25 members, including freelancers and brand ambassadors.

   • Motivate the team to achieve sales targets.

4. Customer Relationship Management:

   • Develop long-term, positive relationships with clients.

   • Understand clients’ financial needs and provide appropriate banking solutions.

   • Handle client complaints professionally and promptly.

5. Cross-Selling and Growth:

   • Identify opportunities to cross-sell other bank products and services.

   • Support retail deposit growth and help clients manage multiple accounts.

6. Coordination and Compliance:

   • Work with internal teams to ensure smooth account opening and deposit mobilization.

   • Follow all bank policies, procedures, and regulations.

7. Market Awareness:

   • Monitor competitor activities and market trends.

   • Provide feedback to the branch and management to improve services.

Qualifications and Skills Required

To be successful as a Relationship Officer at MMBL, you should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

• Understanding of deposit products, CASA, and Term Deposit fundamentals.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in sales, banking operations, or customer relationship management is preferred.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
